Ken Ard’s private student, Elizabeth Hull, has tested successfully tested out of her last two years of High School and will begin her freshman year of college at Berklee School of Jazz on full scholarship in the Fall of 2017. She will attend the Berklee Summer Camp on full scholarship and remain in Boston to begin her college studies.

Elizabeth began her piano studies with Ken Ard in 2009. She has been a frequent performer at the House of Blues in San Diego and spent part of the school year this year at Coronado School of the Arts. This will be the third time that Hull has attended Berklee Summer Camp. Last year she won the prestigious Berklee Songwriter Award. She became involved with the International Academy of Jazz and has played piano and sang at several engagements including the Jacobs Jazz Series at Copely Hall and the Panama 66 series at Balboa Park.

With many years of experience in music lessons, Ken Ard provides award-winning instruction to his students. He is motivated by their love of music and the passion to transfer their knowledge and skills to others so their creativity and talent can shine. Ard currently sits on the faculty of  Grossmont College and

San Diego Mesa College in San Diego, and is a member of the Academic Senate at Grossmont.

Ard is a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California,  previously holding various Board positions, including first Vice-President, and Bach Festival Chair. He is also a member of  The  Jazz Education Network, and regularly attends the yearly Conference.
